**Online Virtual** Pregnancy Yoga with Dani Bedding

Online Pregnancy yoga with Dani Bedding

“Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.” –B.K.S Iyengar

Congratulations on your pregnancy

Pre-requisite: No experience necessary to join this VIRTUAL session !

This weekly VIRTUAL feel good pregnancy yoga session IS NOW RUNNING VIA ZOOM DURING THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS and is for expectant mums to help you in being more comfortable during the emotional and physical changes that take place during the second and third trimester. Pregnancy yoga safely adapts classic poses which help prepare your body for labour and birthby helping to build strength, stamina and confidence in your ever changing body. You can join us anytime from 14 weeks and practice right up to your baby’s birth. You also get to be part of a supportive network of pregnant women during this wonderfully exciting time.

Becoming a mother is a very personal journey. Using yoga during this sacred time can bring calmness, inner balance and empowerment, enabling you to step more confidently towards the life-changing experiences that motherhood brings. Pregnancy yoga adapts classic poses, safely strengthening, toning and stretching your ever-changing body. Using breath awareness, while you stretch, helps to nurture you and your baby. The union of breath and movement is one of yoga’s main tools of discovery, greatly improving your body’s ability to cope during labour and birth. The classes can help to create a heightened sense of well-being and contentment which extends to your baby, your partner and family. You will have the chance to meet other mums/mums-to-be in a friendly, supportive and fun environment, where we share knowledge and experiences.

Absolutely no previous yoga experience is required. You can join from the beginning of your second trimester (around 14 weeks) and are welcome to come to class until your baby is born. It’s lovely also to have post-birth Mums visit the class with their newborns and tell their birth story. Please don’t hesitate to message or call me with any questions you may have or to register your interest. Namaste, Dani x

Pregnancy Yoga

Yorkshire Yoga and Therapy Centre, Halfpenny Close, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
Friday Evenings – 6:30 – 8pm

The centre is warm and spacious and you’re welcome to join from 14 weeks (around the start of your 2nd trimester). My classes are fun and friendly. No yoga experience is required. Just remember to bring water to drink, a blanket for the relaxation and a smile ☺

Payment is for a block of 5 to use over 6 weeks for £60 or drop in is fine at £15 (by prior arrangement). Paying for a block will guarantee your place. My classes are very popular, so I can’t accommodate taster sessions unfortunately.

Mum & Baby Yoga

The Yorkshire Yoga and Therapy Centre

Halfpenny Close, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 0TG
Wednesdays – 12 noon – 13.00hrs

My Mum & Baby class is run every Wednesday at 12 noon. You’re welcome to join from 6 weeks post birth, 10 weeks post section (after your GP check) right up to pre crawling. I have all the equipment you’ll need but do bring, for baby, a blanket and maybe a toy to chew and water for yourself. My classes are fun and friendly, with a mixture of mostly yoga for mummy and some baby yoga too. We go with the flow, as a rule, but I do try to gear the class towards mummies and their needs and always at a pace that suits both you and your baby.

The class is £12 drop in, or £50 for a block of 5 to use over 6 weeks. Come along and see after class if you’d like to go for a block, as a block does secure your place. My classes are popular so I can’t offer taster sessions unfortunately.

Dani provides an upbeat but relaxed environment for baby & mummy

I've really been enjoying the post-natal baby yoga class, with my baby no. 3. It's been guaranteed 'me' time, with the class mainly focusing on yoga for mummy. Dani provides an upbeat but relaxed environment for baby & mummy, tailoring the class to the majority on the day, whether it be to target specific aches & pains or responding to when the babies are ready for yoga too. As well as the yoga there is a supportive feel to the class, which is so important at this early stage. This has definitely been my favourite class so far with baby Noah, thanks Dani! Clare Y

Being part of Dani’s Yoga for 2 class made a huge difference during my pregnancy

A fantastic mummy centric class for a change!! The mums and babies class is relaxed but focused and Dani makes sure the yoga is challenging enough to suit all levels and targets all the ‘problem’ areas post pregnancy. It’s the first fitness class I’ve done since my son was born 3 months ago and I’m really looking forward to next week’s class!! Amy W

Feeling of inner peace and wellbeing

I started Yoga for 2 as a total beginner. From my point of view, it was a way of maintaining a certain level of fitness through pregnancy, meet other Mums to be and to increase my suppleness in preparation for labour and birth.
Less than 2 weeks from my due date and can happily say I've achieved all of these things and more. What I hadn't factored in were the feeling of inner peace and wellbeing that Dani brings out in her yoga mamas, plus a much more relaxed and pragmatic attitude towards the impending birth and motherhood.
I'd recommend Yoga for 2 to anyone embarking on this amazing journey. Thanks Dani!! Jessica B

Brought together a group of mums to be who have become firm friends

I’ve done both prenatal and mum and baby yoga with Dani and can’t recommend her classes highly enough. Not only did the prenatal classes prepare my mind and body for labour through both exercise and relaxation, but they brought together a group of mums to be who have become firm friends and a solid support network. I can’t thank Dani enough for being such a helpful and positive teacher both while pregnant and as a new mum. Sophie D

Dani’s class always made me feel better even on the hardest days

I knew I wanted something to help get me ready to give birth and thought a yoga class would do it. Little did I know that I would gain not only a place to stretch out after a hard week but also a place to feel really welcome. Dani's class always made me feel better even on the hardest days. I always left feeling like a strong mamma. I would highly recommend trying at least one class. You'll be hooked! Dawn H

Dani has built my confidence, I feel stronger, more knowledgeable and know that what I’ve learnt will help me through my labour

With no pre-pregnancy yoga experience I was nervous of trying it out but had a recommendation from a friend to try out Yoga for 2 classes with Dani as knew there would be benefits for me and bump. Wish I'd started sooner it has been great! Dani is a wonderful instructor and was able to adapt moves to take into account my pregnancy carpal tunnel with ease. Yoga for 2 with Dani has built my confidence, I feel stronger, more knowledgeable and know that what I've learnt will help me through my labour. It is such a calming and friendly environment and I look forward to mummy and baby yoga when my little one arrives. Amy M

I received so much moral support from Dani and the other women in the class

Being part of Dani's Yoga for 2 class made a huge difference during my pregnancy. The classes not only benefited me physically and helped prepare my body for birth, but I also received so much moral support from Dani and the other women in the class. Dani encouraged us to discuss our week and talk about any challenges or highlights we'd experienced, and this created such a nice environment. It allowed me to build a support network of other new mums who continue to be a great source of support in early motherhood too. I'd done yoga for a few years, but the class was always adapted to fit all levels of ability and pregnancy.
I really recommend Dani's prenatal classes, and can't wait to start Baby and Mum yoga in a few weeks. Rosie K

I really looked forward to the Friday night class!

I was completely new to yoga when I joined the class but I was looking for something that would help me stay fit as I was not sure what was safe for me to be doing in the gym on my own.

Dani was a huge help and not only did I learn exercises that I could do but I also learnt lots about pregnancy in general by speaking to Dani and the other mums-to-be. I really looked forward to the Friday night class as it was a great way to destress and wind down after a week at work. Now baby is here, I miss its much! Thank you Dani. ~ Katherine

Yorkshire Yoga

Great teacher 💜 Great classes 💜 Great venue 💜

We are delighted to have Aimee Bellwood join us at Yorkshire Yoga having led popular children/family and adult yoga classes in the Harrogate area for several years. Aimee brings with her a wealth of experience - including teaching yoga as a therapeutic tool alongside a regular sport/activity lifestyle, to help with injury prevention or recovery and has more recently trained and been working alongside cancer patients as part of the Active Against Cancer charity. Here is how Aimee describes her upcoming classes:

This is a traditional practice of yoga as exercise and many of the poses (asana’s) establish a firm foundation of yoga in other forms. The class will focus on poses in the set sequence of Ashtanga with importance placed on alignment and learning the sequence. The class will also have a finishing practice of core strengthening poses.
Ideal for those wishing to develop a home practice and learn, by heart a yoga sequence.

You can join Aimee on Wednesdays 6-7pm from 7th October. Beginners most welcome.

My Expert Midwife

There’s always a positive to every negative ☯️ A baby moon courtesy of forced self isolation 💜

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Did you know, since the Covid-19 lockdown began in the UK, mums and midwives across the country have seen an increase in the number of babies coming back up to their birth weight by day 5! - Something that has not been seen in decades!

It is totally normal for your baby's weight to decrease post birth, however in recent years, it's been known to take up to day 10, or longer, for babies to get back up to their birth weight. This meant, extra measures were advised if your baby's day 5 weigh-in didn’t reach the expected amount.

Interestingly, what the lockdown and self-isolation has shown us is that without a constant stream of visitors, mum and baby have had a better opportunity for uninterrupted bonding which seems to have hugely helped mums and babies to establish breastfeeding and feed for longer, helping them regain their weight far quicker!

Whilst this evidence from midwives and other professionals is only anecdotal, at this stage, we hope that, once the NHS workload has returned to normal, formal research can look into this data in greater detail as this could have a huge impact on how women and their partners prepare for bringing home their baby and breastfeeding.

Gulp 💞

I'm now 29 and have 3 kids with my wife Franziska who carried and birthed them all like a pro. Here's what I would tell my childless 24 year old self about how to be a supportive partner during the "becoming parents" phase:
.
1. Wifey carried baby IN her belly for 9 months. So you carry baby ON your belly for 9 months every chance you get. Not only does it help her recover but it bonds you to your kid more than imaginable.
.
2. Wifey is breastfeeding and--while beautiful and fulfilling for her--it's exhausting. So you change EVERY diaper you can. From diaper #1 onward. You will get over the grossness fast. And you will prevent imbalances and resentment in the relationship; in fact, when all your wife's friends are complaining about how absent and unsupportive their husbands are, your wife will be bragging about you.
.
3. Make her the decaf coffee every morning. Even if she leaves it cold and forgets to drink it most mornings because she falls back asleep while you're working or (later) taking the kids to school. She was up all night feeding the baby so help start her day in a way that helps her reset.
.
4. Tell her she is beautiful and help her see that in the moments when she is feeling most self critical and hopeless about her body. Remind her of times when she achieved goals in the past. Remind her she is a superhero. She literally just moved all her organs around and gained 20 kilograms to give you a child that will be a gift to you for the rest of your life. Help her see past her body image issues and stay focused on a positive goal, one day at a time.
.
5. Take the heat. Hormones are crazy, both pre and post birth. She won't seem like herself every day and sometimes she will say things she wouldn't say if she didn't feel like she was hungover, caffeinated, and on steroids every day. Remember your job is to be her rock through all of this, so toughen up and keep perspective when her tongue is sharper than you know her best self intends. Normal will return soon and you want her to be grateful that you kept it together when she wasn't, not resentful and disappointed that you hijacked her emotions by making her problems yours.
.
💪🏻👍🏻👫👶👶👶💘
.

How much? 🤔 Yes, our 4th trimester self-care pack is just £10 until the 30th November. 😲 @mammaburch and I have had great reviews from people like @mother_of_daughters @mumologist and @thepostnatalproject and many many mothers who have loved it. BUT...although self-care is not a new concept it's the one thing that we often let slip in those first 40 days after baby is born, a time when we need it most. Videos, mindfulness, hypnosis tracks, affirmations, dip in dip out. Do as little or as much as you choose, when you need it. 🤗 Give it as a gift or get organised and get it set up ready to go for those early days. ⬆️⬆️⬆️ Link in bio and use the code BLACKFRIDAY18 🙌

There’s so much focus on the birth of this baby, and perhaps some thought and excitement about what to dress baby in, carry them in, sleep in, push them in...? So what about you? Are you prepared to meet your needs? One thing is for sure, if you don’t attend to your needs, you won’t be able to attend to babies needs as easily. So Mindful Mammas advice? Prepare. Take time to become a mother in your time. Use tools like audio tracks and videos to get you feeling relaxed and able to cope. Move gently and at your own pace. Take baths. Rest when you can and most of all, LOVE. Use your senses and your hormones to truly sense the love. Love yourself. Admire the mother you are becoming, and love your baby as they are. And always remember......your baby is born to love you 💕
